Observing Strategies in the Classroom
The following reports were created by LPS administrators who have observed in their buildings great strategies for the effective teaching of English Language Learners. For additional information on how these strategies are being incorporated into specific lessons at different levels and in different content areas, see the Effective Strategies tab.
Check out these two articles written by Lawrence High School principals. They both document excellent strategies being implemented by LHS classroom teachers to benefit English Language Learners. The first article, "Reciprocal Teaching: Making it Work for LHS" is authored by Health and Human Services High School Principal Paul Neal. The second, "Vocabulary Development: Creative Word Walls, Floors, and Windows" was written by Math, Science, and Technology High School Principal Timothy McCarron.
